この度HENKYO ではグループ展「Outer Limits “ TRANSFORMERS ”」を開催致します。 出展作家はRyan Travis Christian、Thorben Eggers、金子 英、TIDE の 4 名。 Ryan Travis Christian、Thorben Eggers は今回が日本では初の展示となります。
HENKYO = frontier「中心から遠く離れた土地。国境。」 新たにスタートする展覧会「 Outer Limits 」では、異なるテーマや技法、コンセプトを探求する国内外のアーティストを紹介します。 第1 回となる今回のテーマは“ TRANSFORMERS ” 参加する 4 名のアーティストは、それぞれが様々な技法やスタイルで作品を制作しているが、 印刷されたメディアや素材に影響を受け ているという点では共通している。 コミック、雑誌、レコードジャケット、バンド T シャツなどのメディアからインスピレーションを得て、 これらの印刷物に目を向け、そのノスタルジックなスタイルに共鳴し、思いがけない方法でそれらを変容させ、 独自の芸術言語へと再解釈している。 また本展では、PRINTS & MULTIPLES より TIDE のプリント作品と花瓶のセット(edition30) を抽選販売致します。

Ryan Travis Christian, Ei Kaneko, Thorben Eggers and TIDE.
The exhibition also marks the first exhibition in Japan for Ryan Travis Christian and Thorben Eggers.
HENKYO = frontier “Land far from the center. Border.”
This exhibition marks the first of an ongoing series of group shows and solo exhibitions that aims to cross artistic and cultural borders
by creating a space in which to introduce or recontextualise the work of Japanese and international artists that explore different themes,
techniques or concepts. The theme of this first edition is “TRANSFORMERS”.
For this first exhibition, each of the four artists on show work across a range of techniques and styles but are united by a shared fascination
with printed media and materials. Taking inspiration from media such as comic books, manga, magazines, record jackets, band T-shirts and
film merchandise, each artist in this exhibition looks towards these printed objects, echoing their nostalgic style, transforming them in unexpected
ways and thereby reinterpreting them into their own artistic language.
At this exhibition, TIDE will also be releasing a set of prints and vases (edition 30) from PRINTS & MULTIPLES that will be sold at lottery.
